5. The Stanley Hotel
This beautiful Colonial Revival hotel, located in the lap of the Rocky Mountain Range, served as the inspiration for Stephen King’s Overlook Hotel in The Shining. King didn’t need to use that much imagination though, since the hotel itself is supposed to be severely haunted. Guests and staff have reported experiencing paranormal activity in the hotel’s corridors, concert halls, and guest rooms.
